marvel quite unique in its nature/Suicide and the after life

Whatever my condition may portray, the fact remains that I had to take recourse to two cervical surgeries, one in April and the other in July 2002, in the absence of which, I was told by many a doctor, I would have been paralyzed, a timely promulgation for which I am highly indebted to Doctor Sanjog Māthur, the orthopedic surgeon at Potomac Valley Orthopedic Association. This I say because the surgery brought about an inconceivable result not just in my physical state but even in my Dhyāna too. The normal flow of my inner energy had remained highly obstructed because of the stenosis of the spinal cord and the narrowing of the neural foramina. The obstruction having been removed, the vital energy was allowed a free, unhindered surge, which resulted into a natural proliferation of some inward currents making my subtle Prāna work on the subconscious level, the Prānās that were not allowed the natural flow they were pining for because of the obstruction caused by the stenosis. These surgeries resulted into a marvel quite unique in its nature.

Suicide and the after life

There are two types of death with regards to its timing.

Destined final death: This is the time of death no one can escape.

Possible death: This is where a person can possibly die. Each person may undergo a possible death wherein one comes close to death but is saved due to his or her merits. In cases where a person is going through insurmountable crisis in his life or has severe personality disorders, he may think of taking his own life in a depressed state. Ghosts (demons, devils, negative energies, etc.) also fuel the depression of a suicidal person and sometimes are instrumental in pushing a person over the edge into committing suicide. However, suicide remains a wilful act that happens when a person is going through a possible death phase as per their destiny.

The gift of life on the Earth plane of existence is precious and is given to us primarily for spiritual growth. By committing suicide, we squander away this opportunity and become eligible for divine punishment. The consequences are that a person committing suicide goes to the Narak part of the 7th plane of existence of Hell for a period of 60,000 Earth years in his life after death. It is a place that is without any light; something like solitary confinement in a prison. As there is nobody in that Narak region to advise about spiritual practice, the subtle body in this region remains in the darkness of spiritual ignorance.Photobucket

… hell attained after death

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  Love the people who treat you right.

Forget about the ones who don’t.  Believe everything happens for a reason.

If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy.

I’m Rich! Guess you could call it a heavenly lottery….. and I am one of the winners.

This morning I searched my wallet.
It was empty.
Then, I checked my pockets
I found a few coins
I then searched my heart and found you.
Then, I realized how rich I really am…

Thanks for being my friend and e-mail buddy!
May you be as rich as I am
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass
It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Importance of the mental state at the time of death

The mental state at the point of death, apart from what has been mentioned above, is very important. Our mental state is generally relative to the proportion of the subtle basic components in our being.

If a person is actually doing his spiritual practice such as chanting the Name of God at the time of death then the influence of desires, attachments, ghosts, etc. are minimal possible for that person compared to his state when not chanting. This makes his subtle body lighter. Hence, if he passes away while chanting, he attains better plane of existence among the sub-planes than what he would have attained were he to pass away without chanting.

At the time of death, if a person is chanting the Name of God and is also in a state of surrender to God’s will, then he attains an even better plane of existence in his life after death and his sojourn is undertaken with lightening speed. This is because the person being in a state of surrender on Earth plane of existence itself, has very less chance of increasing his ego in his life after death. Also, the entire responsibility of his well-being in his life after death is undertaken by his evolved spiritual guide (Guru).

6.2 Who goes to Hell?

The following are the types of deeds in our life on Earth that typically land us in one of the planes of existence of Hell.

Who goes to Hell

The extent, duration and intention behind the wrong-doings are important factors deciding the planes of existence of Hell attained after death rather than just the action itself.

The Arousal of the Inner Energy’/amount of ego

After my lumber surgery I had felt fairly comfortable for quite a while. However, the sting of having undergone that surgery in spite of the positive involvement of the astral never did leave me. I could never forgive myself for my intervention in the natural proceedings, and I kept on repenting my immature decision, let alone my doctors’, they being unaware of my astral functionings. And what was the outcome? With the passing of time, my pain started troubling me once again and there came a stage when it became difficult for me not just to walk, but even to maintain my balance. While trying to stand from a sitting or sleeping position, I would fall down with a twist. As per the medical terminology, I had a ‘right arm paresthesia’ and my cervical-spine MRI readings showed ‘narrowing of the neural foramina resulting in fairly marked stenosis of the central canal with complete effacement of the interior and posterior CSF and cord flattening’. Such a phase in many a Sādhak’s path, especially of the ones whose Kundalini has been awakened, has been reported in Ajit Mookerjee’s book- ‘Kūndalini – The Arousal of the Inner Energy’. In there,
Ajit Mookerjee sites the American researcher Itzhak Bentov who, in his physio-kundalini experiments with a class of practioners under his personal watch, exposes the symptoms which go exquisitely parallel to the ones experienced by me. Describing the sequence of bodily sensations experienced by his subjects in association with the ‘sensory motor cortex syndrome’ or ‘Kundalini process’, Bentov writes of ‘a transient paresthesia of the toes or ancle with numbness and tingling. Occasionally there is diminished sensitivity to touch or pain, or even partial paralysis of the foot or leg.’ Ajit Mookerjee also sites other signs and symptoms enumerated by Dhyanayogi Madhusudandas which reads: ‘creeping sensations in the spinal cord, tingling all over the body, … visions of deities and saints. Dream scenes of all kinds may appear. Physically, the abdomen wall may become flat and be drawn towards the spine; there may be diarrhea or constipation; the anus contracts and is drawn up’ … etc. Many of these symptoms go parallel with what I had been exposed to.

Movement between subtle planes of existence in the Universe

One is assigned that plane of existence which matches one’s basic nature in terms of sattva, raja and tama. This is also a function of one’s spiritual level. Hence, subtle bodies from lower positive planes of existence cannot go to higher positive planes of existence and those from first or second negative planes of existence cannot go to the deeper planes of existence Hell. This is similar to how people living in the planes find breathing difficult at higher altitudes, but people staying at higher altitudes manage fine.

6. What decides where we go after death?

At the time of death, as the physical body becomes inactive the vital energy used for the functioning of the physical body is liberated into the Universe. This vital energy at the time of death propels the subtle body away from the Earth region. Just as the weight of a projectile decides how far a rocket will propel it, similarly the weight of the subtle body decides which plane of existence it goes to in the subtle planes of existence in life after death.

The ‘weight’ of the subtle body is primarily a function of the amount of the subtle basic tama component in our being.

Sattva, raja and tamaThe 3 subtle basic components: Each one of us is made up of three subtle basic components or gunas. These components are spiritual in nature and cannot be seen but they define our personalities. They are:

  • Sattva: Purity and knowledge
  • Raja: Action and passion
  • Tama: Ignorance and inertia In an average person in the current era, the basic subtle tama component is as high as 50%.

Please read the article on the 3 subtle basic components

The more we are filled with the raja and tama components the more we display the following characteristics which add to our ‘weight’ and impact which plane of existence we go to in our life after death:

  • More attachment to worldly things and selfishness
  • More unfulfilled desires
  • Feelings of revenge
  • Higher amount of demerits or wrong-doings
  • Higher amount of personality defects such as anger, greed, fear, etc.
  • A higher amount of ego: By ego we mean how much a person identifies himself with his body, mind and intellect as opposed to the soul within
  • Resulting in lower spiritual level

A permanent reduction in the proportion of the subtle basic tama component and the related characteristics mentioned above come about only with sustained spiritual practice according to the six basic laws of spiritual practice. Psychological improvements with self-help books or trying to be nice are at best superficial and temporaryn Korczak

Thoughts+experience in Hell.

Thoughts…..Too beautiful not to share

Anger is a condition in which

The tongue works faster than the mind.

You can’t change the past,

but you can ruin the present

by worrying over the future !

Love…and you shall be loved.

God always gives His best to those

who leave the choice with Him.

All people smile in the same language.

Everyone needs to be loved…

especially when they do not deserve it.

The real measure of a man’s wealth

is what he has invested in eternity.

Laughter is Gods’ sunshine.

Everyone has beauty

but not everyone sees it.

It’s important for parents to live

the same things they teach.

Thank God for what you have,

TRUST GOD for what you need.

If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday

and the worries of tomorrow,

you have no today to be thankful for.

Man looks at outward appearance

but the Lord looks within.

The choice you make today

will usually affect tomorrow.

Take time to laugh, for it is

the music of the soul.

Patience is the ability to idle your motor

when you feel like stripping your gears.

Love is strengthened by working

through conflicts together.

Harsh words break no bones

but they do break hearts.

To get out of a difficulty,

one usually must go through it.

We take for granted the things

that we should be giving thanks for.

Love is the only thing that can be

divided without being diminished.

Happiness is enhanced by others

but does not depend upon others.

For every minute you are angry with someone,

you lose 60 seconds of

happiness that you can never get back.

Do what you can, for who you can,

with what you have, and where you are.

HAVE A NICE DAY+

The following table is a description of examples along with the average intensity of happiness and unhappiness we experience in the various planes of existence of Hell.

The Earth plane of existence/impetuosity and wrath.

*************************************************************

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7e/Yama%27s_Court_and_Hell.jpgThe importance of the Earth plane of existence

The Earth plane of existence is very important. It is the only plane of existence where we can make rapid spiritual growth and settle our give-and-take account in the shortest period of time. The main reason for this is that with the help of the physical body, we can do many things to enhance our spiritual growth and spiritual level and reduce the basic subtle tama component.

Other than Earth, spiritual growth is mostly likely to occur only in the regions beyond Heaven such as Mahaaloka etc. This is because in Heaven, the subtle bodies run the risk of getting caught up in the unending pleasures it offers. In the Nether and Hell planes of existence, the punishment is so severe and also the distress from the other higher-level ghosts is such that it becomes very difficult to rise above the suffering to undertake any spiritual practice of value.

4. What is Hell, who goes to Hell and what is Hell like?

Who goes to Hell
  • As one goes to lower planes of existence of Hell, as the subtle basic sattva component progressively reduces the environment becomes less conducive to the experience of happiness.
  • Within the planes of existence of Hell, there are some ghosts who do certain types of spiritual practice to gain spiritual power. The highest in the hierarchy of ghosts are sorcerers from the seventh plane of existence of Hell. They have immense spiritual power almost equivalent to a Saint at the 90% spiritual level. They control all the other types of ghosts with lesser spiritual power.
  • As one goes deeper into the various planes of existence of Hell, i.e. from 1st to 7th, the extent of happiness experienced by the subtle bodies therein goes on decreasing and the extent of unhappiness goes on multiplying. The minimal experience of happiness is also due to being engrossed in memories of past positive events, pleasant memories of wealth in a past life, etc. The experience of unhappiness is due to memories of physical pain and insulting events, memories of unfulfilled desires, e.g. regarding education, house, career, expectation of happiness from children in past life.
  • The extent of punishment/pain to be endured in the various planes of existence of Hell (Paataal) and their associated Narak goes on increasing with the subsequent plane of existence of Hell. Also, the period of punishment to be endured in each Narak is in excess compared to the corresponding plane of existence of Hell. If we consider the punishment in first plane of existence of Hell as 100%, then the punishment in the corresponding first Narak region is 50% more, i.e. 150%.

How very difficult and demanding renouncement is! Whether it is love for the spouse or attraction for the corporeal, to try to prove oneself knowledgeable by philosophizing on various principles and theories is one thing, but to put oneself to test by putting these philosophies in practice is quite another. To talk about ‘Karma’ and ‘Akarma’ and to surmise saying that everybody reaps as he sows, and then to shut one’s eyes to actual realities by remaining harshly disconcerned of the actual facts, asks for a lot of thinking on the part of the one who claims himself to be knowledgable, let alone being termed renounced. Well, discussing is easy and anything can be brought to the level of discussion. The foremost and the most difficult thing is to accept whatever comes your way, and do whatever needs to be done, with love, deep  understanding and a spirit of renouncement, while remaining unconcerned of its outcome. Thus, the true spirit of life is to leave the result to His sweet will, thinking, ‘He is the all in all,’ and then to remain untouched by the ups and downs of this life and keep ever contented. It is this, this inner state that authorizes us to say, “Thou art all in all” and “Thy Will Be Done.” I know for sure that I lack this spirit. Let people praise me for my looking after Veena, thinking, I am doing a yeoman service to her. I well know that whatever I am doing for her, is being done more with a spirit of love than of duty. But not unlike ‘Karma’, it is not easy to understand love. Love is that which does not have even the slightest of selfishness in it. It is all a sacrifice. And where sacrifice is, grumble is not. True love has nothing to complain about. No situation can be too harsh for pure love. Love tires not of giving, never. To such relentlessly overflowing a love I am a novice. It is easy for me to get angry and irritated. Again, when this happens, I easily lose my discrimination too, as has been aptly declared by the ‘BhagvadGitā’ in the words ‘Anger begets mental imbalance’, a lesson you can easily learn from me. Veena’s mental state today and my repercussions to it often reminds me of the truth in what the Gita has pronounced. I know that it is wrong to be angry. Even then, I lose my self-control, one reason for this being my inability to digest any wrong. It is equally possible that because of the increased sensitivity due to the awakening of the Kūndalini, I become an easy prey to impetuosity leading to rage and resentment. But there is another reason too for my being easily taken to impetuosity and wrath.

784-be yourself+spiritual guides for humanity.

Never change your originality for the sake of others,

because no one can play your role better than you.

So be yourself,

because whatever you are,

YOU are the best.

  1. Define yourself- You can’t be yourself if you don’t know, understand, and accept yourself first. It should be your primary goal to find this out. Try to take time to yourself and contemplate your life and choices. Try to think about what kind of things you would or wouldn’t like to do, and act accordingly; finding out through trial and error helps more than you might think it does. You can even take personality tests, but be careful to only take what you want from them and not let them define you. Work on accepting mistakes and choices you’ve made; they’re done and in the past, so there is no use crying over spilled milk.
  2. Stop caring about how people perceive you. The fact is, it really doesn’t matter. It’s impossible to be yourself when you’re caught up in wondering “Do they think I’m funny? Does she think I’m fat? Do they think I’m stupid?” To be yourself, you’ve got to let go of these concerns and just let your behavior flow, with only your consideration of others as a filter — not their consideration of you. Besides, if you change yourself for one person or group, another person or group may not like you, and you could go around in a vicious cycle trying to please people; it’s totally pointless in the end, and it leaves you exhausted. However, if someone you trust and respect critiques aspects of who you are, feel free to judge (honestly) whether or not it is accurate instead of accepting or dismissing the critique unconditionally.
  3. Be honest and open. What have you got to hide? We’re all imperfect, growing, learning human beings. If you feel ashamed or insecure about any aspect of yourself — and you feel that you have to hide those parts of you, whether physically or emotionally — then you have to come to terms with that and learn to convert your so-called flaws into individualistic quirks. Be honest with yourself, but don’t beat yourself up; apply this philosophy to others, as well. There is a difference between being critical and being honest; learn to watch the way you say things to yourself and others when being honest.
  4. Relax. Stop worrying about the worst that could happen, especially in social situations. So what if you fall flat on your face? Or get spinach stuck in your teeth? Learn to laugh at yourself both when it happens and afterwards. Turn it into a funny story that you can share with others. It lets them know that you’re not perfect and makes you feel more at ease, too. It’s also an attractive quality for someone to be able to laugh at themselves and not take themselves too seriously!
  5. Develop and express your individuality. Whether it’s your sense of style, or even your manner of speaking, if your preferred way of doing something strays from the mainstream, then be proud of it… unless it’s destructive to yourself or others. Be a character, not a type.
  6. Have a productive day. Accept that some days you’re the pigeon, and that some days, you’re the statue. People might raise eyebrows and even make fun, but as long as you can shrug and say “Hey, that’s just me” and leave it at that, people will ultimately respect you for it, and you’ll respect yourself.
  7. Believe in who you are. If you’re always working to be someone you’re not, you’ll never be a happy person. Be yourself and show the world you’re proud of the way you are! Nobody knows you better than you and that’s how it should be. You deserve to be your own best friend, so start trying to figure out how you can do that. If you had to hang out with yourself for a day, what is the most fun type of person you could be, while still being yourself? What is the best version of you? Believe in this idea and use that as your starting point. Love and accept yourself as you are now.
  8. Follow your own style. The common thing a lot of people do is copy other’s actions because it seems like the better route to fit in, but really, shouldn’t you stand out? Standing out is very hard, yes, but you need to try avoid assuming other people’s perspectives of you. Even if it’s not something you would normaly do; that’s what being yourself is all about. Maybe you like to sit outside on the deck under a umbrella in the middle of the rain, maybe you have different ideas of things, rather than other people, maybe you like strawberry cake instead of the common chocolate cake, whatever you are, accept it. Being different is absolutely beautiful and it attracts people http://jemima.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/jk_burself.jpg+
  1. Each positive and negative plane of existence beyond the Earth  plane of existence becomes more and more subtle. By subtle, we mean, that which is beyond the comprehension of the five senses, mind and intellect. Satyaloka is the subtlest, i.e. the most difficult to perceive or comprehend unless the highest sixth sense (ESP) level is attained.
  2. Due to lack of spiritual practice, most people in the current era go to either the Nether world or one of the planes of existence of Hell. We generally go to the Nether world after death when the proportion of demerits (incurred due to wrong doings on Earth) is approximately 30%. Demerits typically include malice towards others and a lot of desires. The likelihood of being attacked in the Nether world by higher-level ghosts from the lower plane of existence of Hell is almost certain.
  3. Earth is the only plane of existence where there is an amalgamation of people with varying spiritual levels. However, after death we go to the precise plane of existence corresponding to our spiritual level.
  4. The minimum spiritual level required to attain Heaven after death is 60%. Please refer to the article, which describes what spiritual level is and the breakdown of the world population in 2006 according to spiritual level. Basically from the Spiritual science perspective, meritorious acts to attain Heaven or the higher positive planes of existence are those acts done with the objective of God-realization. The following three criteria can be applied.
    • Acts done without doership, i.e. with the outlook that God Himself is getting it done from me and hence I cannot lay claim to any credit.
    • Done without expectation of acclaim or appreciation.
    • Done without expectation of results.More than the acts per se, it is the attitude or outlook behind the acts that counts more.
  5. To attain a higher plane of existence beyond Heaven one needs to be at a spiritual level higher than 80%. This can only be achieved by consistent spiritual practice according to the six basic laws of spiritual practice along with a major reduction in ego.
  6. By predominant body, we mean the body that is most active, i.e., mental, intellect or the subtle ego. For example, in the Nether plane of existence (Bhuvaloka), the subtle bodies still have a lot of desires and attachments. As a result, quite often they become ghosts trying to fulfil some desire of theirs. This leaves them open to higher-level ghosts from the lower rungs of Hell to take advantage of their cravings to affect people on Earth.
  7. In the Nether plane of existence we experience some happiness. However, the unhappiness is amplified as compared to the unhappiness experienced on Earth.
  8. In Heaven plane of existence, subtle bodies experience an over abundance of happiness. This happiness is much beyond the happiness experienced on Earth in quantity, quality and duration. As we go up the positive planes of existence, there is an increase in the quality of happiness and no unhappiness.
  9. Sattvik happiness means happiness derived from helping others without any expectations or strings attached. When ego is involved in the act, it becomes raajasik.
  10. Serenity is a higher experience than Bliss.

Positive planes of existence and reincarnation on Earth

In the planes of existence below Mahaaloka, people need to be reincarnated on the Earth plane to settle their destiny and complete their give-and-take accounts.

If one attains Mahaaloka and Janaloka after death that means they are above the spiritual level of 80%. Here people do not need to be reincarnated as all their remaining destiny can be worked out in these planes itself, but may do so at their own will. Their reincarnation is primarily to act as spiritual guides for humanity.

If one attains Tapaloka or Satyaloka after death, then one does not take birth and continues to do spiritual practice at that plane of existence until one merges completely with God.

783Divine Energy, the Shakti- the Kundalini+Planes of existense

Here, a rather typical question arises in my mind. When I was permitted to enter the fourth archway by that long-haired personality, I was inwardly with the Anahata Chakra, the fourth Chakra where I had visualized the ‘Star of David’. If that is so, and I understand I had then been awakened to the fourth – i.e. the Anahata Chakra, and since I was now allowed an entry to the ‘Fourth Archway’, but stopped to go beyond that – i.e. I could not enter the fifth archway, does it mean that these ‘Arches’ represent the ‘Seven Churches’ of the Holy Bible? And again, if that is so, do the ‘Seven Churches’ have any similarity with the ‘Seven Subtle Centers-Chakras’ the Hindu scriptures speak about? Just as the seven spiritual centres – the Chakras – are subtle, so are the seven Churches. If this is so, then it is not far to think that the Holy Bible, while talking about the ‘Churches’ is pointing at the ‘Seven Subtle Spiritual Centers – the Chakras – , thus hinting at the ever active ‘Eternal Creative Principle, the Primal Power containing the entire spectrum of the Divine Energy, the Shakti, the Primordial Mother Energy, the Kundalini! Well, this is just for a
little thought for those who are open-minded and prepared to go deep. What ever this may suggest, one thing is clear. My worldly attachment stopped me from going within myself, suggesting, I am not yet prepared. And true too. I very well know that I am still a long way behind, and there remains so much more to be accomplished, which I hope I will.+

The 14 planes of existence in the Universe

There are 14 main planes of existence in the Universe. Seven of them are positive planes of existence and seven are negative planes of existence. The seven negative planes of existence are commonly known as Hell (Paataal). There are numerous sub-planes within these main planes of existence.

Definition of Dharma (Righteousness)Seven positive planes of existence: The planes of existence occupied mostly by living persons and subtle bodies doing righteous deeds and engaged in spiritual practice according to the positive path of spiritual practice are known as the seven positive planes of existence or saptaloka. By positive path, we mean the orientation of spiritual practice is towards God-realisation, which is the ultimate in spiritual growth.

The Earth plane is the only physical plane of existence in the Universe and is also the first plane of existence in the hierarchy of the positive planes of existence in the Universe.

Seven Negative planes of existence: These are planes of existence occupied mostly by subtle bodies that have done unrighteous deeds and are engaged in spiritual practice according to the negative path. By negative path, we mean the orientation of spiritual practice is towards attaining spiritual power, e.g. supernatural powers. This spiritual power is primarily used to enhance one’s control over others or for negative purposes. Thus all subtle bodies that go to any one of the planes of existence of Hell, by virtue of their evil intentions become ghosts.

——————————————————————-

Sub planes of existence of Hell (Narak): Every plane of existence of Hell (Paataal) has a sub-plane known as Narak. For example, the first plane of existence of Hell will have within it a sub-plane that is known as the first Narak. Narak is reserved for the worst  negative energies in Hell. The negative energies occupying the first Narak face more severe punishment and for a longer duration than those occupying the first plane of existence of Hell.

Shared an experience.
“It was 5:15 in the morning. The spectacle had lasted some three hours. Prafullbhai, my brother-in-law, who was then staying with us, had stood agape, spellbound, completely flabbergasted, staring at me, like thoroughly bewildered and at his wit’s ends. It was late that morning during my Bhajans that he talked to me of my stunned expressions of the time. Well, I did not know how I looked at that time. Nevertheless, inwardly I was all elated, all full of some vivid sort of inner exuberance and fully loaded with a profused ecstatic feeling of having undergone an incredible experience,
unparalleled and conclusive in its own unique way. Any intellectual acumen would fall short of the exaltation and exhilaration experienced in that beatific state. Deeply shaken I certainly was, having been overtaken by the stunning spectacle I had become a witness to. What a revelation! And the incomparable wonderment of that color combination! With what can it be compared? How to describe the indescribable? The brilliantly superb fusion of that unique combination! And again, how to describe that magnificently splendid propagation of galaxies, all blooming and blossoming, while being interwoven with one another with those live, sparkling silvery filaments! What else could it be compared with if not with the full plume of a peacock in his magnificently spectacular dancing at his seasonal creative splendor? The beauteous designs, the rounded moonlike proliferations multiplying themselves in exuberating profoundness of wealth and array of colors in each feather of his that we see! Do they not represent the galaxies connected with those silvery threads that seem to connect each such plume in its hidden endeavor to create a universe of its own?

Sadhana, devotion, we move a few steps ahead, but we also fail at times.  There are situations, when thoughts about the material world are stronger, and detachment from this world becomes weaker.  You may repeatedly contemplate about detachment from the material world, and try to concentrate on God, but it is difficult.  It does happen that when there are bad days, how much ever you try contemplating on God, it becomes very difficult to concentrate on Him.People get frustrated and say, “What to do?  The mind is not under my control.” If you scold your mind, it will react negatively.  You were concentrating on God and suddenly your mind started thinking about your son.  Now if you scold your mind as to why is it doing this, the mind will get more disturbed. So, first of all, be calm.  Let your mind go wherever it wants to go, and then visualize the form of God in that place.  If your mind started thinking about your son, visualize the form of God in your son.  If your mind starts thinking about ice cream, place God in the ice cream and concentrate upon Him.  If it thinks about the cricket match, imagine that God it standing in the field.  So, in one way or the other, tie your mind to God.This is just as a monkey is unsteady by nature. At the end of the Ramayan, Tulsidasji says:”O Lord! The mind of a monkey is very restless by nature.  If you tie a scorpion to its tail, what will be the condition of that monkey!  And if that monkey gets hysteria, then how restless will it be? Further, it is made to drink alcohol!  Just imagine the condition of that monkey.  My mind is similar to the condition of that monkey.  What can I do?”But you must have seen how the monkey trainer controls the monkey. On the first day, he ties a rope around the monkey which is 100 feet long. The monkey has to jump and play within 100 feet.  The rope presses its neck.  It cannot go further, else the rope will hurt his neck.  The next day he reduces the rope to 80 feet.  The monkey wants to go beyond, but the rope hurts his neck and hence he learns to jump within that limit.  Slowly, when the rope is reduced to 3 feet by the trainer, the monkey thinks, “Leave it.  Let me stay quiet and lie down right here.”Now that energetic and restless monkey is totally under control.  Our mind is similar to this monkey.  You need to tie this mind with the rope of Lord Krishna.  Imagine God wherever your mind goes. , imagine Shree Krishna to be standing there. Shree Krishna is standing on the beach with his flute.  If your mind thinks about Taj Mahal, imagine Shree Krishna standing on the marble stone.  Just like the monkey, the mind will come under control.  It will be bound with Shree Krishna wherever it goes.  Slowly, the mind will come to rest in Shree Krishna.  This is the solution.Note that this is not just your imagination.  It is a fact that God resides everywhere, and we have to realize that wherever our mind goes, God is present there.  Keep practicing this way and it will only happen when you practice  dhyan, or meditation on the form, constantly for some time.  Close your eyes and imagine your personal form of God to be in front of you.  To strengthen  dhyan in your mind, imagine that you are dressing your God.  Imagine as if you are decorating Him with a beautiful necklace and offering Tulsi at His lotus feet. So, by constantly meditating like this, your  dhyan will get stronger.  And when that stage arrives that as soon as you close your eyes, you can see your God’s personal form in front of you, then you  do not have to worry. To attach your mind in God, it is very important that a devotee practices  dhyan.  During devotion, wherever your mind goes in the material world, place Shree Krishna in front of you.  Moreover, decorate Shree Krishna with your mind. By doing this,  dhyan will become more firm and deeper.  And our love for God will progress in leaps and bounds.

+Alas! Boundless was my despondency, my remorse. Veena’s dismal condition and my constant thinking of her desolate state, proved a barrier to my reaching, maybe, I say maybe, a Supra- Conscious level, for my Dhyāna had almost reached a satiety point, a condition that left me in a dismal and barely endurable condition. It is true that Veena could not be left to herself. Whenever I am in meditation, she quietly remains lying in her bed and sometimes, rarely though, falls asleep too. Sometimes, at the completion of my Dhyāna, I hear her deeply snoring, a condition which ceases to be a hindrance to my Dhyāna because of the depth of the  meditation, which takes me beyond the worldly lures. However, my subconscious must have been piled up with lots of hopes and worries which at the eleventh hour prevented me from entering the Sanctum of the Lord of my life. Knowing fully well that the caretaker, sitting right in my heart, is He, not this petty self of mine, I had no other alternative but to succumb to His Will. What else could I do? Even till this day I could not help thinking of my plight, my helplessness, because of which I had to return empty handed from the very threshold of my Lord. It was that day when, being prevented from entering His abode, I truly realized that to know and experience something, and just to superficially claim to know that which is to be known and experienced, are two altogether different things. In fact, those who claim they know, know It not. My mind, which had become a victim to some such similar sticky situation was overtaken with deep despair, hopelessly fumbling to gauge my inner state. I now realize that all the multiple bonds of this mundane existence, added with lack of genuine love for the Ultimate, was turning me away from His doors.

Dimly it burns, oh!

અંતરો ગાય પંચમના સૂરે ગઝલ;

સાથિયા ચાંદ-સૂરજના પૂરે ગઝલ;

લાગણી મુક્ત છે સ્થળ અને કાળથી;

શ્વાસના કાફિયા, જિંદગીનો વિષય;

Dimly it burns, oh!

Dimly the flame burns,

The light of my inner lamp

Ever so dimly burns!

The cavern of this mind forlorn

Is pining for I know not what;

The sinking solitary sieving eve

Doth cast the pinkish glow ashore.

Time it is for this cooing self

To greet departing withering bye;

Where from, then, this lurking light

Gushed glowing in this heart supine?

Right on the brink of this mutinous self

Some hidden pining warmth doth peek

Making this heart lightly blink,

I know not why, with a hidden hint.

Come, me Lord! Come; greet the doors

Of this lonesome, solitary seething self

Long pining in its secluded serge;

A solace be to this heaving elf !
